Newark, DE. \u2013 December 11, 2015 \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Integrity Staffing Solutions, one of the leading staffing and recruitment firms in the United States, is pleased to announce today that Deborah Pierce, Vice President of Employee Relations & Corporate Counsel, has been named as one of the Philadelphia Business Journal\u2019s Top Corporate Counsel for 2015. Pierce is being honored because of her accomplishments that have advanced labor relations, employment law and employee relations within the legal profession, and has been selected as the winner of the Ogletree-Deakins Labor and Employment Counsel award.<\/p>\n

Pierce joined Integrity Staffing five years ago, tasked with building an employee relations and in-house legal function to support the rapid business growth of the company. This was accomplished by reducing legal fees by early case resolution, implementing a multi-level voluntary internal dispute resolution process, developing an employee relations support team, and providing input on employment practice modifications to best support new client business models.<\/p>\n

Pierce was also part of the team that obtained a unanimous decision in 2014 from the U.S. Supreme Court in Integrity v. Busk. This decision established the legal precedent that the time employees spend passing through security screening is not compensable. This represents a significant victory for employers across the United States.<\/p>\n

Over the course of her career, Pierce\u2019s labor and employment law experience has included positions at DuPont, the Campbell Soup Company and Sears. In addition, she was appointed and served as the Regional Solicitor for the U.S. Department of Labor for Region III in Philadelphia. She earned her undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
