As a millennial in the workplace, I always dreaded networking events. I would find myself miserable in a black or navy suit and after a few less than successful events, I knew I needed to make a change. One afternoon I headed to Macy\u2019s on a mission and found an all pink sports coat that changed my life. Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n

I stand out<\/strong><\/p>\n At a networking event, there will be tons of people. Upon entering it may be tough to differentiate between who you\u2019ve talked to and who you\u2019ve haven\u2019t. When you network, you want to be memorable. Trying to stand out to potential clients and employers is tough enough but especially when you\u2019re in a sea of black and navy blue attire. However, nothing says \u201cRemember me!\u201d like a bubble gum pink sports jacket.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It Makes Me Confident<\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019ll be honest, when I wear my pink jacket, I think I look great! And because of that, my confidence skyrockets. Where I\u2019m usually shy or more reserved, I\u2019m able to come out of my shell and speak up. I\u2019m not afraid to start conversations or break the ice. When you\u2019re networking, you definitely don\u2019t want to be a wallflower. You want to get out there and market yourself\/company and you can\u2019t do that if you\u2019re too shy to talk to anyone!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I Like It<\/strong><\/p>\n You should always wear what you like. When you wear something you like, you\u2019re going to be more comfortable than if you wore something you didn\u2019t. With my jacket, I\u2019m dressed for success without having to give up my personal style! It\u2019s very important to not lose your true sense of self when shopping for more professional clothing.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Next time you find yourself shopping for professional attire ask yourself: \u201cAm I confident in this? Am I comfortable?
